Meet the Doctor

Dallin Hubbard

Founder & Pediatrician

Hi, I’m Dr. Dallin Hubbard, a pediatrician, physician-scientist and proud dad of seven amazing kids.

My journey through medicine has taken me from high-tech research labs to some of the nation’s top children’s hospitals. I began training at the University of Utah, where I earned both an MD and a PhD in biomedical engineering and nanotechnology. I completed my pediatric residency at Riley Hospital in Indiana, caring for some of the most medically complex kids in the country. I have done extensive research and training in neonatology.

Along the way, I’ve co-founded startups, published several first-author research papers, and hold a U.S. patent. I’ve worked as a visiting researcher at University College Dublin and have been deeply involved in translational research and developing innovative therapies. I’m especially passionate about bridging the gap between scientific discovery and real-world medical care—bringing the best of both worlds to the families I serve.

However, nothing has prepared me for pediatrics as much as being a parent. Having seven kids of my own has given me first-hand experience of the everyday challenges parents face - from fevers and coughs to long wait times and impersonal appointments. After years working in a hospital setting, I have seen how overwhelming and unwelcoming the healthcare system can be for families.

That’s why I started Direct Care Pediatrics, a personal practice built around what I wish parents to have: care that’s accessible, flexible and individual. I understand the panic! With me, you can text directly, schedule home or virtual visits and get a fast response to your concerns and situations. I know you know your kids best and so, with my expertise and empathy, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way to happy and healthy results.

I stay up to date on the latest treatments and believe in a flexible, family-centered approach to care. Whether you're interested in holistic and integrative options or prefer traditional, evidence-based medicine, I work with you to create a plan that aligns with your values and goals.

Outside the clinic, I’m honored to be called on by the U.S. military to perform medical assessments for new recruits heading to boot camp. And when I’m not seeing patients or replying to texts, you’ll probably find me outdoors—mountain biking, hiking, or camping with my wife and our crew of seven kids. I speak fluent Portuguese, dabble in Spanish, and recently started learning Cantonese (thanks to my mother-in-law!). My wife and I met at Utah State University, Go Aggies!

If you're looking for a pediatrician who combines medical expertise, research experience, real-life parenting perspective—and actually replies to your text messages—I’d be honored to be part of your child’s life and healthcare journey.

Sincerely,

Dr. Hubbard

Why We Started a Direct Care Clinic:

Starting this direct primary care clinic stems from our passions for transforming healthcare into a more personalized and accessible experience. We believe every person deserves unhurried, individualized attention, and by eliminating the constraints of traditional models, we can focus on building lasting relationships with families. This clinic is a response to the desire for simplicity, transparency, and a direct connection between healthcare providers and families, creating an environment where quality care is at the forefront.

Why We Don't Take Traditional Health Insurance:

Opting not to accept traditional health insurance allows us to maintain a patient-centric focus. By sidestepping the bureaucratic hurdles and administrative complexities associated with insurance, we can allocate more time and resources directly to patient care. This decision aligns with the philosophy of putting the needs of patients and their families first, enabling a streamlined healthcare experience that prioritizes quality over paperwork.

Important Note on Direct Care:

It's crucial to understand that direct primary care is not a replacement for health insurance but rather a valuable supplement, particularly beneficial for those with high deductible plans or underinsured situations. This model caters to families seeking enhanced accessibility, convenience, and a direct partnership in their family's healthcare journey.
